“The best forecasters in the world can predict with certainty what the future looks like around 400 days out. At best the rest of us are limited to 150 days or less” according to Professor Margaret Heffernan, best selling author of Unchartered.
Either way that means no one has a crystal ball on the future 2 years from now, or more. No wonder futurist Salim Ismail and others talk about the “death of the 3 year plan”.
Where does that leave HR? How can we prepare our organisations for a future that is so uncertain? And what role does / should / could the local people function play within global operations of foreign owned multinationals?
That is the focus of our Abundium HRD Summit on Thursday 7 November 2024, exclusively addressing the unique dynamics of Australian and New Zealand based HR leaders of companies headquartered offshore.
